Giveaway: Amigurumi Book (Closed)

*************************This Giveaway is closed.***********************
THE WINNER IS DINA and Congratulations! Please contact me at myrockinkids@gmail.com with your snail mail addy:)

I adore crocheting. It's totally something I like to do to get away from the daily hustle of being a mom, wife, and friend. I can sit and reflect on my day by myself or with friends over some yummy coffee. I especially love the end result of wearing my scarf, gloves, hat or even.... an Amigurumi doll!

What's Amigurumi?
Amigurumi (編みぐるみ, lit. knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures.- Wikipedia

For those who do not crochet and would love to learn I suggest you learn from a fellow friend who knows how to. That is how I learned the basic techniques and continuing learning through my crocheting friends. Plus, these dolls are so adorable, who wouldn't want to learn how to make these.

This giveaway is will close next Friday, December 18 at noon.

Here is how you enter:

Tell me of the coolest, creative, thoughtful, or homemade gift you have
ever received or given.

Oh and if the winner is local... Let's meet!

Much love,
Nush

  1. most thoughtful was a necklace that a friend bought me "just because". Sometimes those little "for no reason" gifts are better than gifts with a specific purpose. :)

  2. Great idea! The most thoughtful gifts we have given have been ones the kids and I have made together. I've come to realize that spending hours and stressing over trying to find just the right gift for someone is ridiculous and steals energy, time, and the love that was meant to be behind the gift in the first place. Last year we started giving handmade gifts that we'd made over the months preceding Christmas. My current fav: a layered cookie jar each for all the kids' cousins (in a recycled honey or large sauce jar topped with a rubberband around reclaimed fabric- labelled with instructions and a little note from us). We've also rolled beeswax candles for grandparents to burn on their table at Christmas to think of their faraway grandchildren, sewn flaxseed-filled sacks to freeze and put on boo boos, and more. So FUN!

  3. I gave my husband a journal that I kept from when we were friends and dating about how I was falling in love with him and knew I would marry him someday.

  4. I am not so crafty myself :-/
One year my BIL made everyone in the family crocheted scarves - he put such thought into each one and made sure he picked just the right colors for everyone. I thought that was pretty sweet! :)

  5. The most thoughtful gift I ever received was a framed photo. My brother found a small hunk of fallen Redwood while on a walk in Muir Woods. He created a sunken groove in the wood and installed a photo of himself with my infant son. He edged the frame in tooled leather and engraved the back with "Happy Mother's Day". It is priceless.

  6. The most thoughtful - an awesome (and delish) Harry & David tower sent to me from a friend because I was having a really bad month.
