The Witty Rockstar

My oldest son is extremely outgoing, often saying things that crack everyone up. He enjoys stating the obvious( like most kids) but mostly enjoys finding humor in just about everything.

I have recieved a lot of positive feedback to silly things that go on in our house. Even people asking me what he has recently said, to make them giggle. From even family members friends and co-workers asking for any new witty Rockstar A stories. So I decided to dedicate Monday morning post to my big boy. Here are some recent crowd pleasers from your reading enjoyment.

"Do you own a vaccum? Well, you may want to use it. Your floor is dirty."- Saturday Morning at a friend's house.

"Hi. I wished I had a mustache. Then I could grow a beard and shave it." This was his greeting after meeting his babysitter for the first time.

"Ah, what a beautiful day it is Momma, right?" During lunch at our kitchen table.

"Ew whats this? That will make me throw up. Thats not what my Momma uses." Talking about how I prepare chocolate milk.

If your child says some silly thing, feel free to submit them and I would hopefully be able to have a featured Witty Kid each Monday:) Let the fun begin!

Vegetarian Delight

I have a dear friend who has been a vegetarian for most of her life. Her two children have been as well since they entered this amazing world. Anyways, she just started a veggie food blog, and I must say everything looks delicious. I can not wait to make her Asparagus and Mushroom Ravioli's. Check this and other amazing recipes at Theveggiesoul.blogspot.com

With families looking to cut the grocery cost, meat and chicken is a great item to skip while working on keeping your pennies. I was a vegetarian for 4 years and loved it. I know eat meat, but still love tofu and all things vegetarian.

To Playdoh or to Play with Dough

Dude, our boys are huge addicts to playdoh. All things Playdoh are always a huge success as gifts, prizes, or just because gifts. Well we go through it like its going out of style so I decided to try out a homemade play dough recipe in our very own kitchen.

I have made one before and the consistancy was horrible. So I looked up another recipe and went to town with it. The turn out was a watery mess. I went way wrong.

If anyone has a great play dough recipe, please share. Or even a dough recipe that can be harden in room temperature or baked in the oven. The boys love to create and I seem to not have the best luck with play dough recipes.

Compassion

After posting the photos of my son on Facebook, one of my dear friends sent me a picture that she had of Superbaby P that was on her camera. See his compassion and love for babies is not limited to plastic blinking dolls. He adores all things baby. He loves how little they are and really gets a kick out of something being smaller than him that he can hold.

Raising Fathers

My youngest loves babydolls, especially the ones with blinking eyes. His Gigi has one at her house and he has always been all about playing with it. Yesterday I found a great doll that came complete with a change of clothes, bib, utensils, sippy cup, baby food, plate, hat, and rattle. He flipped when he saw her and immediately named her Betty.

I love to watch kids play with a wide spectrum of toys. I get a kick out of people thinking its odd or unnatural to play with something that is meant for a specific sex. COME ON PEOPLE, the only one with the problem is you! Let the kids have a blast. Heck, if I think something is cool, I will get it for my children.

Dogs

Oh why do we find the need to get one once we have a family? Yes, they are loyal, trustworthy, and love us unconditionally. But if life wasn't already pulling us moms in different directions, we have dogs that like to run away from us when calling them, eat our child's beloved toy, and knock over little kiddos that come over to play.

This morning my dog decided that she wanted to help me take the trash out to the curb. So she jumped on the gate handle and let herself out. Ugh, she can really be too smart for her own good and incredibly stupid at the same time. She decided to run away from me. From past experience, I have just started acting like I just don't care. I keep with what I am doing, all while she is dying for my attention to run after her. Nope...not.playing.that.game.especially.at.7am. My oldest wakes up and sees that I am in the front. He freaks out because his dog isn't coming. Then I have to focus on letting my 4yr old know that she WILL come back eventually. She loves to eat, sleep on our couch, and eat their leftovers. She will not go anywhere. Ha and she didn't. Luckily our road has little traffic, which is normally just from our neighbors coming home. She was growing tired of being ignored and was heading to the front door when my friend came over to drop off her daughter. Clover freaked because she thought she was going to her house and jumped in her car. HA caught you! Now she is home where she belongs, even with all her annoyance, we still sure love her naughty self.

Garden

Here are some recent pictures of our garden. Please ignore our tomato plant that is relucant to produce any tomatos, UGH! Other than that we are pretty pumped on how our first season with a garden has turned out. We are planning on adding two more garden boxes in the yard. I was thinking of looking on craigslist or freecycle of fence to surround it, since our dog loves to eat the plants. Right now we have a dogrun protecting our produce.

Marvelous Monday

This past weekend was great. We spent plenty of quality fun time with our boys, family, and friends. Isn't that what life is about? Surrounding yourself with people you love and that love you right back?

I also caught this CUTE CUTE CUTE picture of my boys napping with their dad. I adore my family.

I did get my Trek bike and I LOVE IT. I also have been increasing my running and am quite amazed at the progress I have made. Makes me extremely proud of myself. Bye bye mommy weight!!!

Our dog is my youngest best friend, besides his bro. My oldest loves his dog too but he never really has bonded with her. Well the other day I caught the cutest moment ever. When I grabbed my camera he moved back but they were touching noses and looking in each others eyes. It was so heartfelt. Made me realize exactly why we decided to have a family dog.

Low Cost Chicken Fried Rice

Okay so yesterday I made a low cost chinese dish. It was a hit. Yes, my oldest is still not too interested with anything rice for over two years- BOO. Especially since I am Puerto Rican and rice is a big side dish. But, oh well. So anywho, I bought this huge can( bag on head) of stirfry veggies at Kroger on sale for like 2 bucks. Then made the rice and added to the wok with scrambled eggs, lite soy sauce, sesame seed extract, and coconut oil. HOLY moly was it good. Oh yah, we added grilled chicken tenderloins too. Here is my meal breakdown.

I already had:
coconut oil
sesame oil
2 eggs
Lite Soy Sauce

Purchased:
large can of veggies- 2.15
bag of rice- 3.50( only used a few cups of rice in the mix)
Chicken Tenderloins on SALE for 2lbs for 4.00- We only used three pieces though.

OOOBER CHEAP AND GOOD!

Bike Trails Here I Come!!!

I have been shopping for a great deal on a great bicycle for myself. Looking to mix up my exercise routine, and have heard about some great bike trails around my house. So, I thought heck, now is the time to buy a bike. I knew I did not want to buy one brand new, especially with so many people trying to find new homes for their own ones. I've hit garage sale, resale shops, and have emailed people in hopes of buying the right bike. They all ended the same. The garage sale will end with me getting to the sale right when someone was placing the bike in the bed of their truck, OR it was in piss poor condition. The resale shops I would hit would either be WAY over priced or not the right size for me. Then there is Craigslist, where I would email and not recieve a response back. Today I decided to update my Facebook status with my desires of finding a great bike. Within 15 mins one of my HS friends informed me of a bike she is selling. I am pretty excited about it! I will be picking it up on Saturday. Pics to come with me on my new ride!
