I am 29!

This past Saturday I celebrated my 29th birthday with opened arms. I love birthdays! A day to rejoice the day you were born, way cool!

Did a joint party( with a great friend) in celebration of our birthdays.

Yes... you do in fact see two cakes. We had a great turnout of dear friends and family. My mom and sister were so generous and brought two yummy cakes. Thank you so much! Love all the special people in my life. If you weren't in it, it wouldn't be the same.

Make sure to check back to see our visit to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine Texas. Here is a little sneek peek.

Yep that's SuperBaby and Rockstar's leg in mid jump:)

Family Love Language

How do you display love to your kiddos?

My boys and I communicate our love towards another with a sort of quiet language that if you don't pay close attention, may miss. We often use it when others are around, if it is noisy, or when we just don't want to speak.

What is this silent display of love towards another?

It is a simple squint of our eyes. Then the love is communicated back by squinting back to each other. It fills my heart up with so much joy and gratitude for being a mother two my boys.

What's your love language for your kids? Is it a simple squeeze of their hand? Or maybe a kiss on their ear? I would love to hear! Nothing better than hearing about other's display of affection to the important people in their lives.

Much love,
Nush

Love you CoCo

Tonight is the last night that Conan O'Brien will be on The Tonight Show. I am sure if you own a television or radio you have heard all about the drama between Conan and Jay Leno. I am so not talking about that...

But, I just wanted to make this post about how excited I am about it. It is minutes away and as sad as I am about all of this, I just know this one will rock. I am a huge fan of Conan( even if most nights I belly laugh during his monologues and then pass out from exhaustion). Can't wait to laugh til tears come out! Those are the best, right?

Do the puppet/string dance in his honor, LOL!

Much love,
Nush

What's in the Water...

that everyone is dreaming that I am pregnant?

To answer your questions...

I am not.

Several friends and family members have told me they have dreamt of me being pregnant. What is even crazier is that I too have had these dreams. So this totally makes me sit back and think about why is this occurring. I shortly answer my own question. I soon will be introducing another child or children into my home to play and learn with us during the working week. Adding children into my home is a blessing and brings much excitement because everyone who enters our home immediately becomes 'family'.

While I am introducing a kid(s) here I will be crying my eyes out waving goodbye to one of the most amazing old souled 4 year old girl. She has taught me so much. We are all truly treasuring the remaining time we have with her until her and her family move up north for an amazing opportunity for their family, yay! Thank goodness for the internet, in which it allows us to remain in contact with a touch of a button.

Now to answer my family the question that is always on their mind when they see us.

Are we planning on having anymore? The question remains unanswered. Ha!

Much love,
Nush

Crafts Spark Imagination

Meet Guitar Hero, Rockstar's pet rock. He was found in our neighborhood while on an adventure walk last spring. Now it is January and G.H( we will nickname the pet rock that to make things easier) continues on being part of our family.
-How we found Guitar Hero-

Our mission for the day was to go on an adventure walk and find something that each kid would wish to bring home and create something with. With paints, sticker eyeballs, brushes, stickers and more the kids decided what they wanted to place on their items from our walk. Super baby and I worked on a rock that would hold our family name and be proudly displayed in our flower beds. Rockstar immediately wanted his to be his pet.

I am very fond of his pet rock, as it hold an array of different stories from what his favorite food is or what adventures he has been on.

I have much gratitude for Guitar Hero. He has been instrumental in allowing my son to step into a different world and share spectacular stories.

Now go and create something with your kids, friends, or during quiet time. You would be amazed how therapeutic it really is.

Much love,
Nush

Sweets for a Sweet Girl

This past weekend we spent it celebrating one of the girls birthdays that I care for. She had a beautiful party at her home thrown by her mommy. I offered to make her birthday cake as part of our way to celebrate her BIG day. The party was all decked out complete with a Princess theme.

May this year be fabulous being three! We love you Kay Kay!

Easel Fun

I am sure you all have seen those kid size art easels. While they provide a great space to create, they have never appealed to my boys and space. See Rockstar loves sitting down and superbaby enjoys sitting or laying on his belly while he creates. We have this folding easel that is really cool. One side is chalk board and the other has dry erase board with a clip to hang your paper on. I have seen these online as well at the local store. The is a compartment to hold all of your art supplies for the easel. I totally love this because we keep particular paints and markers( even switch it up often) for little hands to enjoy.

Here is my baby with his friend who comes to play during the week. It really captures the enjoyment of morning creations. His friend appreciates the ability to observe before creating.

Mornings are often thought of rolling out of bed, grabbing coffee and going. But here we roll out of bed and create all in our pajamas.

Much love,
Nush

Happy Twenty Ten!

I know you have heard this everywhere. But, I have welcomed this new year with a big burly hug. I have had sometime to self reflect and see what I would love to take control over in this new year. (Thoughts are extremely powerful and I would love to intensify my inner thoughts through my actions on a daily level. )

I took some great pictures of our New Years. Ones that captured the bliss and essence that is family and love. See, we had my mother, step-dad, brother, sister and her lovely boyfriend. If that was not enough fun we also opened our doors to his parents and sisters to join in on the festivities.

Like in Christmas, we like to make the food fun. Christmas was Cuban Sandwiches and New Year's Eve could not be left out of the cultural fun. We had a potluck style meal that was anything Asian. How cool is that? Our table was jammed packed with:

*Sushi
*Crab Wontons
*Meat Wontons
*Edamame
*Lettuce Wraps
and more.

Might I add everything was prepared with love, minus the Sushi- where I delivered it with love.

We rang in the New Year with hugs, champagne and FIREWORKS that were shot from our someone's yard.

Family stayed over for a big sleepover and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.

Much love for the New Year,
Nush

Back from Christmas

We totally stayed in Texas(even better our house) but it feels like I was caught in that tornado from Wizard of Oz. Yes, the one that landed Dorothy in Oz. We had a great time but I feel as if everything spun all over me and just whizzed by. I had to take little pulses and remind myself to appreciate everything the season brings. Now, with the New Year approaching I totally believe it is like my visit to Oz. Beautifully colored aspirations and new things to look forward to in the up-in-coming 2010.

I know resolutions get a bad reputation. One of not following through after the month of January and all. I still make resolutions and keep track of it all through the year. I even did my resolutions for this past year last January here. I am really proud of my accomplishments this past year and really enjoy reflecting all I did. I encourage all to write these resolutions down and keep track of them through the year. Even put notes next to an accomplished goal or whatnot next to them. It is pretty cool to see how much a year can bring growth.

There is one goal I SERIOUSLY FAILED AT. This goal is Coke a Cola. I did have the best intentions but I still have this addiction. What is crazy is I do not even buy this in our home. I drink it while eating out or socializing. Bad Nush bad!

I am working on my resolutions right now and will post in a few days. Would love to hear some of yours that you already have. I'll tell you one of mine other than soda.

* I would like to become a master( okay well better than now) at grocery shopping as well as meal planning. Especially when I am able to see such a sweet face enjoying some food at home.

Much love,
Nush
