Puppy

I looked in the backyard to discover my very own adorable puppy. He resembled surprisingly a lot like Rockstar, but was assured that it wasn't.

You ask how I found this amazing discovery? It starts with...

* a very windy and low 60's weather
* a $10 doggy pool filled up with freezing water
* children throwing sandbox toys
* and the first sign of Spring

My Very Own Peter Pan

Superbabe is young. He will be three years old at the end of June. He just maybe the first ten year old kid you will see cramming their pre-adolescent body in a size 6 toddler diaper. Nah, just joking... but he has been straight forward with me about how he does not want to go potty in the toilet, like ever. He is adamant about it.

Here he is grabbing a diaper after he informs me that he needs to be changed. Ha!

I always ask if he would like to finish in the bathroom, go potty before bath time, go like Daddy, etc. Nope everything is answered with a big fat NO! Now with the weather becoming really nice I have hopes that he will roam free in the yard diaperless. That is what helped Rockstar be fully using the bathroom on his own at 2.5( even dry at night). I do not want to FORCE him to potty train. I know the day will come where he is ready. He was so close to being potty trained( on his own accord and I was totally on board with him) when he was between the ages of 18 months to 24 months old. Then he reverted, hmm.

This post is totally for my own comic relief on the whole matter. I know he will eventually 'be ready' on his 'own time'. I do realize he is still a baby, a cute one at that. So I end this post with how adorable my SuperBabe is.

Enjoying Desserts

I often get asked how my boys eat desserts without artificial colors. Many believe there are no other option out there, but that's not true. It is amazing how many things DO have red, yellow, or blue in them... so becoming a consistent label reader is a great habit to have. Once we were informed our lives and Rockstar's well being were all in sync. There are products you can order online or purchase at a specialty shop to keep in your home for those fun colors children enjoy.

Living and eating can still be fun and vibrant!

There are great companies that you can purchase sprinkles, food dye, and more without all the artificial coloring. For instance red is often from beet extract.

India Tree Natural Decorating Colors is what we used for the cupcakes above.

Once you start enjoying treats like these YOU will never go back!

Bringing The Outdoors In

With the beautiful weather lately( that we dearly missed), we headed to the nearby Nature Reserve for a little playtime. While on our exploration walk the boys climbed down rocks to a stream. They had a true blast. Yep the water was colder than cold, but I kept that to myself. Since I remember being young and 'never cold', ha! We brought home two really neat tree branches that were in the stream along with a heart rock that was found by Rockstar.

He stated that it was a heart to show how much he loved me. Wow, pretty sweet huh?

We are currently displaying our treasures on the mantel above the fireplace.

How do you like to bring the outdoors in?

We Did It!

After several attempts to get me to budge.

He was certain he wanted to take the plunge.

I had become attached and had to grieve a little.

Then he told me he wished to look like his Daddy.

THEN

I

Took

A

Deep Breath

Presto! A Big boy showed up in our kitchen.

The smile says.it.all. He loves it. He informed me he could hear better( giggle) and loved that he now looked like his dad. Shortly after we went outside to play in the front yard and Rockstar requested to wear his daddy's baseball cap while he drove his 12v car. *swoon*

Much love and CHANGE,

Our Kids Are Amazing

I am sure you all agree with this. Children are amazing! They open our eyes to a whole new world that most of us have forgotten from our younger years. Some of their world aids us in recalling particular memories that we seemed to have hidden in our minds. This weekend we organized our attic along with some of my childhood toys. To see the boys faces in amazement was extremely cool. They too agreed that the toys were really cool, and even selected which ones they wanted to keep in their room. Our attic also holds childhood toys that belong to my sister and brother( as they do not have an attic). They loved hearing about when their Aunt and Uncle were kids just.like.them.

A few days before this we went into the Disney store at the local mall. Superbabe went straight to the cellphones and chatted the whole time in the checkout and on the way home. To make it even cuter, he took a nap with his Disney Razor phone. Rockstar had a hard time making a decision on what he wished to have. After many strolls around the store I informed him of an area where he had not taken a look through. Then he saw just what he wanted, WALL.E sunglasses. He came to me and told me just this...

" Mom, check out these sunglasses! They will make me look so cool!" I giggled and remembered my little sister saying something just like that to my mom growing up. Pretty cool how our kids remind us of our childhood in different ways. I then stated that he was already really cool but agreed that the sunglasses we pretty neat too and we joined chatty Superbabe in line.

Kids are fun in so many different ways! Take a second today and observe your own or someone else's and you will see.

Snow One Day the Spring the Next

As most of you know, this 'Rockin' crew lives in North Texas. By this time of the year we never dream about getting snow. But a few weeks back we did and a BUNCH of it as well. A few days before the news was buzzing through town about the snow storm we were going to get. I simply giggled to myself because it just did not sound like Texas. We get a few flurries, it melts, and that's considered bad weather. To see snow fall, hit the grass, and then melt can really be a bummer. This snow storm really hit a RECORD.

We went outside to play the second everyone was ready to play. Snow angels, snowballs, and plenty of laughter was involved in the early morning. Little did we realize that by the end of the day there would be double the amount of snow surrounding our house. It was fantastic. I didn't even have time to really get dressed in the early morning( I figured capris, my husband's shoes and a camera on hand was good enough).

Day 2 of SNOW!

SuperBabe did not want to wear anything to play in the snow besides his 'bob bob' shirt and diaper. I figured he would eventually realize how cold the snow was and ask for his shoes and jacket. Well after a few minutes he decided it was, but only asked for a coat. So a coat it was.

After he enjoyed the feel of the snow on his cute little feet, he asked for shoes. But, he was very clear on NO PANTS. Okay no pants it is.

When we went back out to play in the snow he decided that long socks would be best. Along with a sweet kiss.

Then NO JOKE a couple of days later it was beautiful outside. I packed up the van with the kids and headed to the duck pond.

Gotta love Texas:)

Asking why he doesn't have his pants, socks, or shoes on?

While feeding the birds overhead he ended up jumping into the chilly water. We all had a good laugh.

Much love,
Nush
